Benefits of veg diet known to cardiologists, but they still don't recommend it to patients

Not surprisingly, the study here has a connection to PCRM, but that won't stop it from getting reported on. Besides, it's true:

It would have been nice if this had been mentioned to my grandfather a couple years ago. He had a major heart attack, had surgery, got a pacemaker put in. He still has problems from it. I think he may have taken vegetarianism as an option if the doctors had ever mentioned it to him and my grandmother.
